The last product group focuses on 2 subject matters for the contract: 1)Food and beverages from organic food production 2)Food and beverages that guarantee a fair price to the producer op the products (fair trade) It is recommended to consider carefully beforehand the subject matter for the desired products. The fair trade aspects for example are relevant for specific food products as coffee, tea, cocoa, sugar, fruit, rice, flowers, wine etc., usually harvested or produced outside the European Union. The criteria in this type procurement on fair trade focus on a fair-price aspects for producers. They are mentioned in the part ‘performance clauses’ of this type procurement. All the other criteria focus on environmental aspects. They are relevant for most of the food and beverage products. Also a market analysis should suggest that there are enough suppliers for a certain contract.
